2.Philosophy

Rapid changes in modern society, destabilizing the traditional values, have brought anxiety and confusion to our living. We are now obliged to reexamine these wide-ranging aspects from philosophical perspectives such as visions on the world, human, life, society, and nature, since our modern society has various and conflicting values. In this Discipline, we will adopt the traditional philological approaches of Western philosophy, ethics, Indian philosophy, and Chinese thought and culture in order to deepen our understanding of philosophy. Based on these methods and philosophical viewpoints, we will encourage students to study the fundamental issues surrounding the human existence as well as the new problems arose in modern society through practical and transverse research made of applied philosophies. In other words, our aim of education is to cultivate students who consider the present time with deep understanding on human intelligence inherited from the societies and histories of Europe and North America, India, China, Japan, and so on.
