The expectations of a university when it comes to region building will become greater and greater in the future. We will continue to seek out and create new local community connections which make use of HU's unique characteristics while undertaking practical and multi-regional exchanges and information exchanges.

Surveys/Research on University/Community Cooperation

 

The Center implements various surveys and research to research the shape of social cooperation/regional contribution at HU and to see that it is reflected in policy.

- Advanced Case Surveys

Survey of advanced cases inside and outside of Japan, which become guidelines for HU's social cooperation.

The Japan-UK Higher Education Program of Collaboration

 

From May to June of 2007, our center participated in a program on "Social Cooperation Projects in Higher Education", and together with conducting a survey on the role of higher education institutions play in English regional revitalization, we also had an English Survey Team visit Japan, where we deepened our discussions. The results of the survey were presented at a public forum.

Survey on Satellite Campuses

 

The Center implements case studies on domestic satellite campuses and uses them as reference for developments in our university.

- Participation in Various Lecture Meetings

 

We participate in lecture meetings, research meetings, seminars, and more, related to university/community cooperation and endeavor to create networks with other universities while gaining different knowledge and expertise.

- Publication of Survey/Research Results

Information about the knowledge gained from the Community Cooperation Division's activities is relayed through thesis presentations and presentations at academic conferences, reports in publications, and by seizing various opportunities to make announcements.

Enlightenment Programs on University/Community Cooperation

 

The Center plans and implements seminars, events, and more as enlightenment programs to help those on campus and in the region to understand university social cooperation and to get them actively involved in it.

- Region Revival Practical Cram School

Promote the Japan Center for Regional Development sponsored "Region Revival Practical Cram School" and implement it on the topic on "Regional Revival from University and Region Cooperation". Conduct fieldwork on the shape of cooperation with participants from all over the country and hold opinion exchanges.

- Community Cooperation Seminars

We invited a professor from Tohoku University of Community Service and Science, whose endeavors in university/community cooperation has gained high evaluations, in order to learn from him.
