This international symposium began as the Hiroshima Conference on Education and Science in Dentistry, held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Dentistry in January 2006. At this symposium, cutting-edge research presentations and active discussions were held as to the future of dental research and education in the 21st Century and participants shared the ideal direction for future dental medicine and oral health science practitioners, researchers, and students. Deans and Vice Deans from 9 HU-academic exchange agreement Faculties of Dentistry were in attendance, and together with academic exchanges, a Dean’s Meeting was held during the conference to discuss future cooperation.
In October 2007, the 2nd symposium was held. Lectures by leading researchers and discussions were held on 5 focal points closely linked to dental medicine (Integration of Engineering and Health Science, Infection Control of Emerging and Reemerging Infectious Diseases, Neuroscience on Growth and Development, Nutrition and Diseases, Innovation of Education for Oral Health Science). At the same seminar, the Hiroshima Seminar for Asian Dental Students was held, where 18 undergraduate and graduate students from 8 countries and 1 region discussed the issues and nature of dental medicine in

The 3rd Hiroshima Conference will take place on November 7 and 8 at the International Conference Center Hiroshima.
