Characteristics of School
In School of Oral Health Science, students are able to hold rich grounding in general education responding to enhanced / diversified oral health・medical care・welfare and highly specialized knowledge・techniques on oral health・oral engineering. As a result of this, they will play international leadership roles as personnel capable of conducting the advanced public health・medical treatment・welfare in collaboration with other medical specialists (medical doctors・dental professionals・nurses) as well as educators or researchers in oral health・oral engineering.
Along with School of Dentistry, School of Oral Heath Science offers『Bio-dental Education』as a new dental curriculum whose academic goal is to nurture professionals possessing the ability to innovate the next generation dental medicine through combining specific educational programs provided at both Schools; seminars・practices on agenda setting・problem-based learning and research methodology conducted at School of Dentistry, and lectures・practices on biotechnology-based science and IT-based engineering opened at School of Oral Health Science (Click here for more information; only in Japanese).
Course of Oral Science
This course is the institution to train dental hygienists with 4-year academic course system. Students also can acquire 1st class license for Yogo teachers; school nurses by option. We provide students opportunities to enhance their abilities in education, nursing, and health management together with highly specialized knowledge・techniques on oral health・medical care・welfare which allow them to play leading roles as educators in oral health, internationally active researchers and medical professionals capable of working in a team treatment cooperated with other special fields after graduation. Furthermore, if students acquire 1st class license for Yogo teachers (optional course), they can become professionals enabling to promote school dental health which would further contribute the progress of national health.

Course of Oral Engineering
This course is the only institution with 4-year academic course system to cultivate dental technicians in Japan. We aim to foster highly advanced medical professionals playing a major role in oral engineering with a wide variety of medical knowledge and education as well as having not only dental technicians’ skills but knowledge and techniques in system engineering with use of computer・biotechnology. Students are able to learn the latest knowledge on biotechnology, bioengineering, biomaterials engineering, and information processing. Moreover, this is the only course in Japan that the degree in cell culture engineering and the qualification of facial therapists are recognized, as we offer students special practices such as rehabilitation make up technique lesson by「Reiko Kazki」and practical trainings for cell and tissue culture by the Japanese Tissue Culture Association. Students will open and establish a new dental medicine as research-minded medical personnel and medical-minded researchers as well as possessing thinking, problem solving and teaching skills through mastering enough knowledge and techniques on basic/clinical dentistry・medicine・engineering.
