Aiming to nurture global leaders advancing our oral health

 As Japan is facing an aging society with a declining birthrate, more and more people have become to seek the improvement of their “Quality of Life”. On the other hand, in the medical fields influenced by the overwhelming wave of globalization, we are inevitably required to fulfill world standards in health treatment. According to the progress of biomedical sciences, it is likely to be recognized that oral health is directly and deeply involved in maintaining general condition of human health, which situation further prompted the advancement of research in dentistry and oral medicine.
 At Faculty of Dentistry, Hiroshima University, students are given  a variety of opportunities; to learn dental medicine・oral health science based on scientific research (biodental education), to acquire global thinking through joint lectures with Asian students (International Dental Course), and to recognize the importance of treatment teams experiencing specific human relationship beyond schools (Inter-professional education). Dual language program (English and Japanese) has been newly introduced at School of Dentistry since April 2012.
 We aim to foster biodentists, oral health managers and oral engineers possessed global standards of knowledge / techniques through these academic systems.
 Thus, we welcome you to learn at Faculty of Dentistry, Hiroshima University conducting exceptional and unique education even at national wide level, and help you expand your activities abroad!
