International Exchange in the Graduate Program

The guiding principles of Hiroshima University are
"the Pursuit of Peace";
"Creation of New Forms of Knowledge";
"Nurturing of Well-rounded Human Beings";
"Collaboration with the Local, Regional and International Communities";
"Continuous Self-development".

Research exchange programs and the presence of students from overseas countries are wonderful opportunities for the actualization of these principles. The countries with which we have signed the "International Exchange Agreement Among Universities" include
Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Germany, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, The Republic of Korea, Malaysia, The Netherlands, New Zealand, The Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, The United Kingdom, and The United States.

In fact, the Graduate School of Education and the Undergraduate Program of Education have accepted foreign students from 63 different countries and regions. Currently, a total of 189 international students are studying here, including 4 undergraduate students, 95 graduate students, 49 research students and 41 auditors.

Additionally, beginning in October 2005, we have started to offer a new program called "Special Program for International Students in Education", the purpose of which is to foster highly specialized professionals in the field of school education.
