Mr. Mohamed Abdalla Mohamed Abdelsalam  (Egypt)
Laboratory of Animal Histophysiology
Hello Everybody,
I am from Egypt, one of the most ancient civilizations in the world.
It is located in the northeastern corner of Africa, with a small part of it located in Asia. Most of Egypt is a desert land but with wonderful seashores facing the Red Sea. And if you want to go back in time to about 7000 years ago, you will have to visit the fabulous pyramids and the Cairo museum and also Luxor and Aswan in the southern part of Egypt.
  Beginning of my life

I came to HiroshimaUniversity two years ago.
Once the airplane landed on Osaka Kansai airport after a long, 13-hour direct flight, I became very excited. The first problem I met was the Japanese language for I found no one who could speak English, but in the end it was fine. Most Japanese people are very kind despite the language barrier. I found someone who took me to the train station and book the tickets. After some adjustments, my family and I are now enjoying our life in Hiroshima.
  Academic life

I am graduated from the Faculty of Science, Minia University in Egypt where I held an appointment as an assistant lecturer. Currently, I am a doctoral student in the Animal Histophysiology Lab. My major is reproductive immunology, mainly focusing on the immune function of the hen’s ovary. I acquired many skills using different techniques of immunology, molecular biology and histo-physiology. Free access to different well equipped laboratories, easily accessible libraries and overall good and supportive academic environment have made my research more successful. My academic confidence and communication skills have been improved also by attending many scientific conferences in Japan.
  Social life

I like my life in Japan. Life in Hiroshima is very peaceful, and Higashi Hiroshima, where the university campus is located is not a busy place. I value the peace and quiet because I do not like crowded cities.
Although I have very little Japanese language skills I can still make many friends in Japan and I wish to maintain contacts with them even after I go back to my country. My family also enjoys life in Japan very much. Surprisingly I noticed that my elder son has acquired Japanese skills rather quickly. He speaks with his Japanese friends but he cannot teach me. His Japanese language skills are better than mine. My wife likes shopping which is one of the most important features of Japan. She also enjoys learning Japanese cooking.

I am very much grateful to my supervisor Prof. Yukinori Yoshimura for providing me tremendous opportunities, guidance and cooperation to develop my expertise in the field of reproductive immunology. Also, I would like to thank Dr. Naoki Isobe, professor of animal science and all friends for their cooperation in helping me define my academic career.
