It is almost three years since I came to Japan. I had never really thought about studying in Japan before. When I was granted the Monbukagakushou (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) scholarship, I came to study at Hiroshima University. It was my first time to be oversea an extended period. Actually, the first time I ever saw snow was in Japan. At first, it was very difficult to adjust to the new environment. However, I did not have any problems during the initial days of my life. Now it feels like this is my second home.

Currently, I am pursuing a master degree in Marine Science under the supervision of Professor Shin-ichi Uye. My research focuses on the effects of environmental factors on podocyst production and excystment of the common jellyfish Aurelia aurita s.l. Having an understanding professor and excellent laboratory members helped to improve my studies and made my research life enjoyable. I really appreciate Professor Shin-ichi Uye for been a great supervisor and mentor to me. I believe my studies will be beneficial to the scientist community.

Everything is really nice here. I came from a remote region of Myanmar and in comparison; of course, there are differences between individual countries. We are Asian people however, there are so many differences. Of course we have some things in common but there are still many differences. Saijo...it's a very nice place to study and good place for a campus. The city (Hiroshima) is pretty close, like a small world, everything is close. Fortunately, I can utilize both English and Japanese with my colleagues in order achieve to success my social life. In addition, warm and thoughtful friends help me to gain knowledge and incorporate into this society.
Thank you so much.
