Field Science in Setouchi Areas Division
This division aims towards building sustainable food production systems as well as establishing founding a society with an environmentally-sound material cycle anchored on research activities in the terrestrial and aquatic fields. We especially emphasize educational and research activities grounded on field work focusing on the ecology of terrestrial animals and marine life.
 
 Terrestrical Field Science
 
We address up-to-date research and education in areas of terrestrial field science, aiming at a balance and ecological harmony among humans, domestic animals, wildlife, plants and other living things.
 
1) Relationships between human and domestic animals, wildlife and companion animals (Tanida, H.)
2) Grassland and forage utilization (Kurokawa, Y.)
3) Animal　health management for productivity (Okita,M.)
4) Study on Animal Assisted Education for Children

 Aquatic Field Science
 
The Takehara Marine Science Station is located in central part of the Seto Inland Sea, and is an active research center for the systematics and ecology of invertebrates and algae and the ecology of commercially important fish, taking full advantage of the nearby splendid environments.

1) Symbiosis in marine organisms, in particular, interactions between fish and invertebrates (Ohtsuka, S.)
2) Production of fisheries resources and fish community structures in coastal ecosystems such as seagrass beds and estuaries (Shoji, J.)
