The Graduate School of Health Sciences shares the Kasumi Medical campus with the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Built around the Hiroshima University Hospital, the Kasumi Medical campus brings together specialists in fields including medicine, dentistry, pharmaceutical science, and health sciences. The Graduate School of Health Sciences includes programs in nursing, physical therapy, and occupational therapy and is dedicated to training specialists and researchers to provide holistic health and medical services that combine health promotion, preventive medicine, rehabilitation, and terminal care in a way that is consistent with an understanding of the whole of human life. In order to meet the increasingly diverse needs for healthcare, medicine, and social welfare triggered by today's rapidly changing social structures, it is critical that we educate and train specialists who understand their communities, and researchers who approach their work from an international perspective. The Graduate School of Health Sciences was only recently established and is just taking its first uncertain steps, but I am confident that its future is bright and expansive. Our faculty of professionals is highly motivated, and we welcome the youthful energy of knowledge-hungry students who are ready to take flight along with us. Our field is deserving of a life of effort. I invite you to consider the Graduate School of Health Sciences.

Dean, Graduate School of Health Sciences Yoshito Tanaka, M.D.,Ph.D.
