An Introduction to Graduate School of Health Sciences

Graduate School of Health Sciences, Hiroshima University, was founded in 1996 being expected to respond to new medical and welfare needs of the aging society. It has two courses: two year master course (formally the first half of doctoral course) and three year doctoral course (formally the second half of doctoral course). Our graduate school first sent masters in 1998 and Ph. D. graduates in 2001. Since then 306 masters and 62 doctors have graduated (as of March 2005). It is one of the leading graduate schools in Japan. Especially it was the first graduate school of physical and occupational therapies in Japan.
The area of researches and education covers wide range in health sciences. The detail is described in the Health Sciences Major section. The license of advanced school nurse is available for students who attended specified lectures.
