Phoenix Scholarship Systems This is Hiroshima University's unique scholorship system targeting applicants who have achieved excellent academic performances yet find it difficult to go to university for financial or other reasons. Students covered by this system are exempt from admission fees and tuition while at our university and are granted a monthly scholarship of JPY100,000
   
Tutor System The Tutor System ensures that several faculty members will take care of each student from admission to graduation. Students will be given support and advice about classes and all other matters concerning their studies, as well as their daily lives.
   
Office Hours The Office Hours System ensures that each faculty member stays in his/her office during certain hours of specific days of the week. During these hours, students are able to ask questions of and seek advice from their teachers about classes and studies.
   
Student Peer Support Counseling Room This is an all-around counselling room where students can seek advice from their fellow students about any kinds of issues. Students who have received necessary training provide peer counseling and support on questions concerning caampus life, daily life, etc.
   
Health Service Center

The Health Service Center supports the physical and mental health of students. Services provided include counseling and mental health consultation by experts, as well as health chekups. examinations, first aid care, etc., by doctors.

   
Accessibility Center The Assessibility Center supports the academic career of students with disabilities The center also conducts studies on the accessibility of various facilities and services, and develops human resources with relevant expertise and skills.
   
Learning Support Room The Learning Support Room helps students better understand the subjets they are leaning. Supplementary classes are provided on an extracurricular basis. Subjects taught include English, chemistry, physics and mathematics. Teaching staff is comprised of graduate students and faculty members.
   
International Exchange and Study Abroad Support Based on student exchange agreements, various international exchange and study abroad support programs are available, including HUSA, a short-term student exchange program designed for students wishing to study abroad for one semester or one year.
   
Promotion of Extracurricular and Volunteer Activites Hiroshima University encourages students to participate in extracurriclar activities and voluntary activities of their own accord and provides financial and human resource support for these activites as a part of its educational efforts. We also award individuals and organizations that achieve excellent results in such activities.

 

◎ Systematic Career Education and Extensive Support in Career Orientation and Employment Search

With the motto "Thinking about your career means thinking about how to live your life," the Career Center supports students' proactive efforts toward designing their career paths. In the framework of the Career and Job Program, to which students can subscribe from their first year, the Center organizes activities such as career education, guidance, internship, and also teaches general-education subjects such as "Career Selection and Self-Realization" and "Career Design: General Theory."The Center also provides focused support in the form of guidance in employment search in private and public sectors by instructors from inside and outside the University, seminars given by prospective corporate emplyers, and individualized career consultation. Such serivices are available throughout ones school career from entrance to graduation, and if desired, even after graduation or course completion.
