This is a system to insure students renting private apartments, student housing, or other housing against fire, water leakage, wind and water damage, etc. This program also covers expenditures caused by repair estimates and other costs demanded by the landlord.

The Hiroshima University Support Organization pays for private students' insurance costs. Please submit the necessary documents to your Faculty Office. Those enrolling in this program must pay a 2,000 yen enrollment fee and become a member of the University Cooperative. This enrollment fee will be returned when you graduate, finish research, or return home.

Should Japanese Government Scholarship Students want to join this insurance plan, please go to near Coop Shop (Daigaku Kaikan Co-op Shop on the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus, Kasumi Campus, or Higashi-Senda Campus).

* Fire Insurance from the Co-op will not provide compensation for any house fire if the determined cause of the fire is a meber of your family.

This program was designed in order to relieve the burden of students having to find a guarantor for housing and the mental and economic burden caused to the guarantor himself, and in order to make the move into an apartment as smooth as possible.

This program includes a comprehensive housing insurance program to cover reparation fees to landlords due to fire or water leakage and coverage for the guarantor in the case of unpaid rent, etc., by the tenant.

The cost to enter into this insurance is 7,500 yen for 1 year, and 14,000 yen for 2 years. Please pay for this through the established payment form at the post office and bring a receipt of the transaction to the International Student Exchange Group.
