Request to All Tutors

* When going to meet your student at the train station or traveling in the city, we ask that you please use public transportation, as opposed to your own vehicle, as much as possible

* Please contact your student as soon as you can (at least the day before they arrive). This is important to establishing trust between the two of you.

* If a situation which you cannot handle arises, please do not bear the burden by yourself. The role of a tutor is NOT to solve all the problems that their student may have, it is more like the role of an advisor or a member of the student support group. If you have an issue which you don't understand or is causing trouble, please consult with the appropriate person or faculty.

* Through all the duties listed above, you as a tutor have the opportunity to learn many things. We ask that you take advantage of this opportunity and actively support your student.

* The maximum amount of hours for which you can receive for your services as tutor (1,000 yen/hour) is 40 hours per semester (there is no limit per month). Please manage your hours using the "International Student Tutor Activity Record" (Attachment 2).

* Compensation will be paid in a lump sum after your term as a tutor is completed; we ask for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
