I was a student in Hiroshima University's PhD Program in High Energy Physics at the Graduate School of Advanced Sciences of Matter (ADSM ) from 2004 to 2007. I entered the university just after the completion of my Master's Degree in Russia. More than anything else, I remember the extraordinary support my research received at ADSM. There, with excellent supervision, I continued to gain personal and professional experience. I could perform my experiments not only at Hiroshima University, but also at the leading high-energy physics facility KEK in Tsukuba. Hiroshima University also gave me the chance to present the results of my experiments at various international conferences in Italy, Germany, and the US. I successfully completed my education and received my PhD degree in March 2007.

Hiroshima University has it's own high-energy physics facility which is perfect for students and unique in Japan, such as 150-MeV Relativistic Electron Ring for Education and Research (REFER ring). One big thing about it is that students, in addition to performing their experiments, can learn the physics by operating it themselves, which is impossible on large-scale accelerators. I value my experiences at HU very highly and would strongly recommend prospective international students who are studying physics to consider applying for the high-energy physics courses at HU.
