The Hiroshima University Support Foundation was founded on June 18, 1997 with the objectives of contributing to the development of Japanese academia. The Foundation provides aid necessary to the maintenance and preservation of HU education and research facilities, as well as education/research activities and international exchange.

The Hiroshima University Fund was established December 1, 2007 as a donation system to fund student support activities such as the Hiroshima University Phoenix Scholarship, international exchange, community cooperation, and other university-wide aims. Tax breaks are also provided for individual and corporate donations.
