The Hiroshima University International Student Exchange Group created the Alumni Directory database to provide
information from HU, deepen friendships between former International Students, and to aide in network creation.
Before leaving, please download the form, fill it out, and submit it to the respective office of your faculty or graduate
school. We will send university event information and more to the address provided. Former international students
who did not submit the form before leaving are requested to send it via e-mail (inquiry "at" office.hiroshima-u.ac.jp).

eNewsletter for Former International Students in Japan
 

The eNewsletter for International Students is a magazine sent via e-mail aimed at returned International Students.
Information such as guides and announcement for symposiums and various events, former international student
spotlights, guides to the various systems in place for former international students, and more will be sent once
every 2 months.

Follow-up Services for Former International Students
 

(1) Follow-up Technical Publication Donation
The Japan Student Service Organization (henceforth "JASSO") will send journals from Japanese academic societies
and research societies, research bulletins, theses, etc to former international students currently working in professions
for the public good, such as education, research, etc, for 2 years after their return home, free of charge. The purpose
of this service is to advance the specialized research of former international students in their respective areas and to
further enhance the results of their studies in Japan. Please take note that you must fill out an application for this service.

(2) Follow-up Research Guidance
JASSO supports sending research advisors to visit former international students, who are currently engaged in
educational or research activities at universities or research institutes in their home country/region. Two-to-three
years must have passed since they have returned home after their study in Japan. The research advisor will be
provided with all necessary fees, such as round-trip airfare, living fees, etc. The program aims to spread information
about Japanese education and research through support for the advisor, as well as to enchance the education and
research capabilities of former international student. The maximum length of stay for this program is 10 days.

(3) Follow-up Research Fellowship
JASSO provides this fellowship to former International students from developing countries/regions in Asia, Central
and South America, the Middle East, Africa and other areas, and are currently engaged in education, research, or
government activities in their home country/region. This fellowship invites former students back to Japan and gives
them the opportunity to conduct short-term research with researchers at universities in Japan, with the aim of delving
even further into their specialized research areas. The applicants must be under 45 years old and at least five years must have passed since they returned home after their period of study in Japan. The maximum length of stay for this fellowship
is 90 days.
 

The Hiroshima University Office in Tokyo
 

In May 2004, Hiroshima University Office was opened in the Fifth Floor of the Campus Innovation Center in
Tokyo. Information about ouor faculties, graduate schools, and research inistitutes are available. The "Liaison Corner",
a free facility, is also available for use by local alumni for discussions, an office, a break room, etc. .

The Hiroshima International Club
 

The Hiroshima International Club was organized by the Hiroshima International Center for former international students
and others who are connected to Hiroshima University. The club provides an e-zine and other services for registered members.
