Hiroshima University Study Abroad (HUSA) Program
Period: Within 1 year (1 semester or multiple semesters)
Hiroshima University Support Program for Long-term Study Abroad         Period: Within 2 years (Masters), within 3 years (Doctoral)
Hiroshima University Support Program for Short-term Study Abroad Period: More than 3 months, less than 1 year (For HUSA Program students only)

Hiroshima University Study Abroad (HUSA) Program

Target Students:
Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at HU

Program Period: Differs depending on the host university. Within 1 year (1 semester or multiple semesters).

Destinations: The United States of America, the UK, Indonesia, Australia, Holland, Austria, Canada, South Korea, Serbia, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, China, Germany, New Zealand, the Philippines, Poland, Malaysia, Russia, Finland, Turkey, etc

Program Outline: The Short-term Study Abroad Program is a system based on university exchange agreements which aims to provide learning, experiencing foreign culture, and language courses for undergraduate/graduate students, who retain their enrollment at their home universities. Generally students spend 1-year or less (1 semester or multiple semesters) studying, gaining credit, or receiving research guidance at their host university. The exchange programs listed above are systems with mutual waiver of tuition fees and approved credit exchange prerequisites.

Hiroshima University Support Program for Long-term Study Abroad

 Office: International Exchange Group

Target Students: Those who have graduated with a bachelor's degree  from HU before the beginning of the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) study abroad period, including those who are expecting to graduate at the time of application. However, other restrictions (age, etc) may apply.

Program Period:
After September (every year). Master's students within 2 years, and doctoral students within 3 years.

Support for Study Abroad (Longterm) (Japanese) 

Program Outline:
The Hiroshima University Longterm Study Abroad Support Program aims to expand international student exchange and contribute to strengthening Japan's internationalization and ability to compete internationally together with promoting mutual understanding and friendship with countries abroad. Japanese students are sent to study at universities abroad and all necessary funds for both research and education are funded by JASSO.

Hiroshima University Support Program for Short-term Study Abroad

 Target Students: Students will be decided based on support quota numbers allocated for each university. This quota is based on applications from Japanese universities to JASSO for the yearly dispatch plan. Nominated candidates from each university will be screened and decided upon by JASSO. (For HU, students who apply to the HUSA Program are the target students). 

Program Period:
Differs depending on the host university. More than 3 months, less than 1 year.
