Narita International Airport

From Narita International Airport there are two major ways of reaching Hiroshima.
1. Transferring to Haneda Airport by bus or train and taking a flight bound for Hiroshima Airport.

2. Transferring to Tokyo Station by bus or train and taking a bullet train (shinkansen) bound for Hiroshima Station.

ANA and JAL provide regular flights from Haneda Airport to Hiroshima Airport. Tickets can be booked in English over the internet.

There are frequent bullet train (shinkansen) from Tokyo Station bound for Hiroshima. For more information about the shinkansen, please refer to the Central Japan Railway website.
If you are visiting Kasumi Campus or Higashi Senda Campus, please get off the shinkansen at Hiroshima Station. If you are visiting the Higashi Hiroshima Campus, please get off the shinkansen at Hiroshima Station or Higashi Hiroshima Station. As only Kodama shinkansen stop at Higashi Hiroshima Station and public transportation from Higashi Hiroshima Station to Hiroshima University is very limited, we recommend that you use Hiroshima Station rather than Higashi Hiroshima Station.

Centrair Airport

From Centrair Airport, please take the train to Nagoya station and transfer to a bullet train (shinkansen) bound for Hiroshima. If you are visiting Kasumi Campus or Higashi Senda Campus, please get off the shinkansen at Hiroshima Station. If you are visiting the Higashi Hiroshima Campus, please get off the shinkansen at Hiroshima Station or Higashi Hiroshima Station. As only Kodama shinkansen stop at Higashi Hiroshima Station and public transportation from Higashi Hiroshima Station to Hiroshima University is very limited, we recommend that you use Hiroshima Station rather than Higashi Hiroshima Station.

Kansai International Airport

From Kansai International Airport, please take the Haruka train to Shin-Osaka Station and transfer to a bullet train (shinkansen) bound for Hiroshima Station. For more information about train times, please refer to the Kansai International Airport website.

If you are visiting Kasumi Campus or Higashi Senda Campus, please get off the shinkansen at Hiroshima Station. If you are visiting the Higashi Hiroshima Campus, please get off the shinkansen at Hiroshima Station or Higashi Hiroshima Station. Please take the Airport Limousine Bus to Hiroshima Station if you are visiting the Kasumi Campus or the Higashi Senda Campus. It takes approximately 1 hour.

Please take the Geiyo Bus to Shiraichi Station and transfer to the train bound for Saijo, Hiroshima and Iwakuni and get off at Saijo Station if you are visiting the Higashi Hiroshima Campus. It takes approximately 15 minutes to Shiraichi Station by bus and a further 10 minutes to Saijo Station by train.

From Fukuoka Airport, please take the subway to Hakata Station and transfer to a bullet train (shinkansen) bound for Hiroshima. If you are visiting Kasumi Campus or Higashi Senda Campus, please get off the shinkansen at Hiroshima Station. If you are visiting the Higashi Hiroshima Campus, please get off the shinkansen at Hiroshima Station or Higashi Hiroshima Station. As only Kodama shinkansen stop at Higashi Hiroshima Station and public transportation from Higashi Hiroshima Station to Hiroshima University is very limited, we recommend that you use Hiroshima Station rather than Higashi Hiroshima Station.

From Hiroshima Station to Kasumi Campus
Please take Hiroden Bus no. 5 from Hiroshima Station to the Kasumi Campus and get off at the last stop. It should take approximately 20 minutes.

From Hiroshima Station to Higashi Senda Campus
Please take tram no. 1 from the tram stop located in front of Hiroshima Station. Please get off the tram in front of the Red Cross Hospital (Nisseki Byoin Mae). It will take approximately 30 minutes. The Higashi Senda Campus is located on the left hand side of the road, approximately 50 meters past the tram stop.

From Hiroshima Station to Higashi Hiroshima Campus
Please take a train on the Sanyohonsen line bound for Saijo, Shiraichi and Okayama. The train usually departs from platform 5, but occasionally will depart from other platforms. It will take approximately 30 minutes by express and 40 minutes by ordinary train. Please get off the train at Saijo Station.

Hiroshima Bus Center

Hiroshima Bus Center to Kasumi Campus
There is no bus for the Kasumi Campus that departs from the Bus Center. Please take Hiroshima Bus no. 23 from the bus stop located in front of the Hiroshima Prefectural Government Offices across the road from the building where the Bus Center is located. Please get off the bus at the final stop. It will take approximately 30 minutes.

Hiroshima Bus Center to Higashi Senda Campus
There is no bus service from the Hiroshima Bus Center to the Higashi Senda Campus. Please take tram no. 1, 3 or 7 bound for Ujina from the Hondori tram stop located to the right of the building where the Bus Center is located. It will take approximately 15 minutes. Please get off the tram in front of the Red Cross Hospital (Nisseki Byoin Mae). The Higashi Senda Campus is located on the left hand side of the road, approximately 50 meters past the tram stop.

Hiroshima Bus Center to Higashi Hiroshima Campus
There is a highway bus service approximately every hour between 6:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. from the Bus Center to the Higashi Hiroshima Campus. Buses depart from platform 1. It will take approximately 1 hour. Please refer to the campus map to determine which bus stop to get off at when you reach the Higashi Hiroshima Campus. Higashi Hiroshima Station

There is a very limited bus service to the Higashi Hiroshima Campus from Higashi Hiroshima Station. We recommend that you take a taxi to the Higashi Hiroshima Campus or organize for someone to pick you up. If there is no taxi waiting at Higashi Hiroshima Station, please call Saijo Taxi on 082-423-2525 or Higashi Hiroshima Taxi on 082-423-2121.

Saijo Station

There are two bus companies that provide a bus service between Saijo Station and the Higashi Hiroshima Campus. Please refer to the Geiyo Bus website for an updated timetable (in Japanese).
Buses depart from bus stop 3 in front of Saijo Station. It will take approximately 15 minutes. Please refer to the campus map to determine which bus stop to get off at when you reach the Higashi Hiroshima Campus.
