In AY 2002, Hiroshima University established the President Award system to commend individuals and groups that contribute significantly to the University's development through their exceptional achievements in education, research and outreach programs. The target audience of the award are Hiroshima University faculty/staff members, in-house organizations, and individuals and groups outside the University. The establishment of the President Awards was advocated by President Muta in hopes that the award system would help promote University-wide efforts to fulfill the University's visions and goals.
