On October 30th, 2011, Hiroshima University concluded an interuniversity exchange agreement with Jordan University of Science and Technology in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Jordan University of Science and Technology (abbr. JUST) is a state university established in 1986 for the purpose of educating specialists to meet the needs of Jordan and all of its regions. Within 20 years of its establishment, JUST has grown into the most advanced and cutting-edge university in the Arab world. As a result of faculty efforts and a reform of the education system, it became the host university for many international students from various countries and is consistently one of the most regarded universities in the Middle East for a high level of education. Hiroshima University concluded this agreement with the intent of a friendly relationship with a university in the Middle East.

Executive and Vice President Mitsuo Ochi from Hiroshima University, President Abdallah Malkawi and Vice President Ahed Wahadni from JUST attended the signing ceremony. After the signing ceremony, they visited the campus and had a lively discussion on the future of the exchange activities. Executive and Vice President Ochi also visited the nearby King Abdullah University Hospital, conferred with CEO Ziad Al-Naser and confirmed the cooperation between the two university hospitals.

We hope that both universities will actively promote joint research and the exchange of students, teachers, academic and educational knowledge and deepen their mutual understanding.
