“Global Environmental Leaders Education Program” is accepting applications for the Secondary Recruitment of 2012 Fall Enrollees.

* Results of Preliminary Evaluation: By May 22nd, 2012 (Tue) (notification)

* Primary selection (document review): By June 8th, 2012 (Fri) (notification)

Development of global environmental leaders to drive “green” growth in Asia, based on environmental security


As a base for ‘cross-disciplinary’ environmental research that spans the entire university, the Global Environmental Leaders Education Program has as its aim the training of new global environmental leaders to drive sustainable growth throughout the world, through the resolution of environmental issues that cannot be resolved by humankind when constrained to existing academic fields, and the incorporation of research results into the public domain and the resulting social contribution.

The Global Environmental Leaders Education Program is comprised of two educational courses: the Cross-disciplinary Doctoral Course focused on the basic areas to support environmentally sustainable growth (‘green’ growth) in the Asia region, and the Environmental Management Education Program (development of management skills) to acquire the management skills required to deploy green technologies throughout the world. It is a 5-year doctoral education program conducted in English, with the objective of training the human resources described below, to make contributions to corporate, governmental and research institute activities in Asia.

1. Global human resources who possess wide-ranging knowledge and skills in the area of green technology, and are able to implement strategic corporate management from a mid- to long-term perspective.
2. Global human resources who possess the knowledge and skills to appropriately utilize green technologies, have a consistent vision for the creation of an environmentally sustainable society, and are able to design policies and systems and implement governmental management from a mid- to long-term perspective.
3. Global human resources who possess knowledge and skills regarding the development of advanced green technologies, and are able to conduct applied research and technical development at the highest level, to contribute to the sustainable development of regional and international society.
