Center for the Study of International Cooperation in Education

Center Overview

This Center was established in April 1997 as Japan's first base for practical and developmental research into international educational cooperation. In terms of research, the Center explores models for international cooperation in education and systems for evaluating this, as well as conducting empirical research in related fields, while also providing support for numerous international cooperation projects. Moreover, the outcomes of this research have been disseminated regularly via seminars, academic journals, and the internet; in addition, forums have been held in order to link these findings to actual policies, and Center members actively participate in relevant round-table discussions and committee meetings.Furthermore, through initiatives such as the building and running of a network of expert personnel, a part-time researcher system, and internships, this Center is striving to identify and cultivate talented personnel in the field of  international development cooperation in education.
