FY2015 the 3rd Leadership seminar was held successfully
On March 4th, during the 3rd leadership seminar of the year, Mr. Daisaku Horiuchi, General Manager, Business Strategy & Planning Department, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation, gave a lecture entitled “Questions for Risk Communication with Japanese Society from point of Japanese business person’s view.” There were 20 participants including 14 Phoenix program students, as well as 6 faculty and teaching staff.
In his lecture, based on his wide range of experience as member of a global company, he talked about actual cases, such as the overseas business development of medical devices and participation in an in-house venture project. Then he introduced a currently controversial Japanese social issue to the participants as a case study. They were fully involved in the group discussion where they were considering possible responses to the issue by putting themselves in the position of a private company manager. The students actively discussed both concrete and practical issues. It was a unique and useful opportunity for them to be able to compare organizational forms of business and to learn about the development and implementation of research results into a business model.
