International students who meet the following conditions are eligible to apply for the AIMS-HU program:

1. Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at their university during their stay in Hiroshima.
2. They must be a student of a university with which Hiroshima University has established a formal short-term student exchange agreement for AIMS program.
3. Students must have a good academic record.
4. Students must have sufficient English language proficiency to be able to comprehend classes, give presentations, write reports and take examinations. Attending the program without sufficient language ability can cause difficulties in academic achievement.

Students must submit a proof of English language proficiency upon application.
*Native English speakers do not need to submit any documents of language proficiency tests.

English Language Proficiency

    TOEFL iBT above 61, IELTS Academic Module above 5.0, TOEIC above 600, or equivalent.

Proof of Japanese language proficiency is also required if a student wishes to take Japanese taught courses in addition to the AIMS-HU professional courses.

    Japanese Language Proficiency Test 2nd Grade (Nihongo Noryoku Shiken 日本語能力試験 2級) or above.
