On October 8, 2013, Hiroshima University International Center held a Joint Opening Ceremony for the International Student Project in the reception hall on the 2nd floor of the Faculty Club. There were 7 students in the Japanese Preparation Course from the Science and Engineering Faculty, 18 in the Intensive Japanese Training Course and 15 in the Japanese Language and Culture Studies Program in attendance at the ceremony.

Mr. Lee Young Hoan, the Korean Consul in Hiroshima extended his cordial greetings as a guest and Dr. Shin-ichi Uye, the Director of International Center deliverd a welcome address. A total of 40 students from 17 different countries will pursue Japanese language and Culture studies for half a year or a year.
