“Study Abroad Week 2015” - One Week to Feel the Fascination of Studying Abroad

For five days, from May 11 (Mon) until May 15 (Fri), HU held the “Study Abroad Week 2015”, introducing various internal and external programs, offering students the opportunity to discuss about studying abroad with the purpose of expanding their interest in overseas study or training. This year, the “Study Abroad Week” took place for the 5th time since 2011 and more than 500 students and faculty members participated.

The information session about English Language Testing Systems (IELTS, TOEFL) attracted more participants than ever before, and we could feel the increased interest in studying abroad and learning English. Study Abroad Advisors (students with experience of studying abroad) acting as consultants at the office of HU International Exchange Group, voluntarily organized projects such as the “Study Abroad Cafe – Let’s talk with former study abroad students!”, a place for students to discuss about overseas education, or a photo exhibition in the spiral staircase of the Student Plaza titled “Art Gallery Connecting to the World – the Charm of Overseas Study in Photos”. These projects aroused much interest and curiosity in many visitors. The students who took part said: “Listening to the voice of experience, I feel even more motivated to study abroad.” or “I was glad to get so much detailed information about various study and training programs at once.” This event was a precious opportunity to exchange opinions, experiences and information between students who had studied abroad and those who wish to do so.

The HU International Exchange Group is going to plan further information meetings about study abroad programs, language testing systems and other events in order to support the students’ desire for studying abroad.

Next year’s “Study Abroad Week 2016” is planned from May 9th (Mon) until May 13th (Fri).
