The 1st Phoenix seminar was held.

The Phoenix Leader Education Program held the 1st phoenix seminar with the theme of “Nurturing Global Leaders” in Mielparque Hiroshima on May 26, 2014. This program aims to improve the qualities and abilities of students as phoenix leaders by conducting seminars with guest lecturers from home and abroad in the field of problem in establishing and improvement of career paths. Approximately 60 people including some business people and graduate students participated.

At first Dr. Rethy K. Chhem, Director, Division of Human Health, IAEA, delivered a lecture on global leaders and leadership. He also talked about the topic “Are leaders born or made?” Dr. Okamoto Tetsuji, Program Director, explained the current progress of the program. One of the 1st year students made a presentation on his activity report and showed the difference of his TOEIC scores before and after his overseas English training. His achievement was evident.

Finally Dr. Kamiya Kenji, Program Coordinator, concluded the seminar stating that Dr. Chhem was a true model of a global leader, and they would like the program students to study more to play an active role as global leaders.
