The 2nd short-term field work report meeting was held.

With the purpose to understand the status of recovery from radiation disaster in the affected area with a wide scope of vision which covers fields (protecting human lives from radiation disasters, protecting the environment from radioactivity and protecting the human society from radioactivity) and to find out the issues, the short-term field work was conducted. Twenty-seven people including the program students and teaching staff attended the activity.

During the activity from the 1st to 5th of September, they were blessed with good weather.

Participants visited Fukushima Medical University, Fukushima University, Minamisoma city general hospital, Minamisomo city temporary houses, Minamisoma Support Satellite, Iitate village elementary school, the mouth of the Niidagawa, Decontamination Information Plaza of the Ministry of Environment. They also completed the observation, hearing, lecture, practice of the disaster medicine course, radioactivity environmental protection course, and radioactivity social recovery course, respectively. From this year discussion time was prepared and it was initiated by the students themselves. Each student shared their findings and opinions and the discussion became very active.

The students that participated stated that they could broaden their views on radiation disaster recovery by observing various facilities and organizations apart from their own discipline. They also mentioned that they would like to utilize what they have learned, in the future.
