Phoenix Leader Education Program the 2nd Phoenix Leadership seminar was held



The 2nd Phoenix Leadership seminar was held.

 The Phoenix Leader Education Program held the 2nd Phoenix Leadership seminar with the title of “Global Leaders in the forefront of disaster medicine field“ on January 21, 2015.

Dr. Tatsuo Ohno, DMAT, National Hospital Organization Disaster Medical Center, gave a lecture on the worldwide disaster medicine support system and their current activities, and he also talked about his own career.

Dr. Hisayoshi Kondo, National Hospital Organization Disaster Medical Center, gave a lecture on the activities of DMAT and its support system. He explained his experience of response to large scale disasters which have occurred since 2005. He also talked about the activities and support since the great east Japan earthquake on March 11, 2011. In his session, there was a tabletop simulation of triage in the midst of a large-scale disaster.

After the lectures, there was an active discussion together with some program members. Through this seminar the program students got to know about the forefront in the field of disaster medicine. It was a useful opportunity to think clearly about their future global career in the field.
