"Language and Information Research" 4th Annual Open Seminar



The Department of Letters and Department of Letters Research Project presents the 4th Annual "Language and Information Research" Open Seminar. The theme of this year's seminar will be "The Relationship Between Onset Identity, Knowledge of Special Syllables, and Word Recognition in Japanese Beginning Readers."



This year we have invited Assistant-Professor Claire M. Fletcher from Auckland University to talk with us about the results of her research with monolingual and bilingual children learning Japanese (phonemics and simple word recognition in hiragana). The seminar will be in English and is open to the public.
