HiPeC and the Institute for Peace Science Joint Symposium



The Institute for Peace Science, in conjunction with the Hiroshima University Partnership for Peacebuilding and Social Capacity (HiPeC), will be holding their 32nd Symposium on "Indigenous Governance and Peace."



We look forward to everyone's participation.



Date and Time: Monday, December 3, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m.

Venue: 1st Floor Large Conference Room in the Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation (Higashi-Hiroshima campus)

Attendance Fee: Free



This symposium will be held in English.



Manuhuia Barcharm, Director of the Centre for Indigenous Governance and Development at Massey University (New Zealand) will speak on the subject of "Indigenity, State-Building and the International Struggle for Peace," and Morgan Brigg, a research fellow in the School of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Queensland (Australia) will speak about "Networked Relationality: Indigenous Insights for Integrated Peacebuilding."
