Admission Policy- School of Pharmaceutical Sciences

1. Qualities of Desired Students

  School of Pharmaceutical Sciences seeks the following students:

  1. Those who possess a broad range of basic scholastic knowledge at high-school, especially having high scores in math, English, science (specifically chemistry)
  2. Those who actively attempt to learn chemistry or life sciences and to contribute to development in pharmaceutical research as well as quality improvement in medicine after fully understanding people who need medication and medicine
  3. Those who aim to be pharmaceutical specialists such as researchers, technicians, developers of next generation medicine, providers of advanced medical information, experts in environment / health who can play active roles in the world, after they acquire the foremost specialized knowledge on pharmaceutical sciences at  graduate programs. Or those who aim to be highly-specialized pharmacists with advanced knowledge / techniques capable of discussing from the scientific point of view in a medical team, equipped with advanced expertise and skills

2. Basic Policy for Student Selection
Responding to student needs such as providing a wide variety of career opportunities   after graduation, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences is made up of Program of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Program of Medicinal Sciences.
Based on diploma policy and curriculum policy set up for each program, the School conducts multifaceted and comprehensive selection methods utilizing “the three elements of academic ability” (knowledge and skills).

Program of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Program of Pharmaceutical Sciences)

Based on diploma policy and curriculum policy for Program of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the program seeks students who possess a range of abilities prior to admission as follows:

  1. Knowledge and skills;
    Those who possess a wide range of scholastic knowledge in all subjects offered at high schools, especially having high scores in math, English and science
  2. Capacities for thought, judgement and expression;
    Those who understand the mind of people needing health care or drug treatment and aim to contribute to the quality improvement in medicine and the development of pharmaceutical research
  3. Independence, diversity and cooperation;
    Those who aim to become highly-specialized pharmacists capable of giving their opinions from the scientific point of view in a medical team equipped with advanced expertise and techniques.

Contents that entrants are expected to prepare before admission are as follows:
Those who possess a broad range of basic scholastic knowledge at high-school, especially having high scores in math, English, science (specifically chemistry)
 
Furthermore, Program of Pharmaceutical Sciences focuses on cultivating excellent medical personnel with scientific thinking, equipped with a rich humanity, fundamental  knowledge / skills, and attitudes to be health care professionals after entering Hiroshima University.

 

Program of Medicinal Sciences (Program of Medicinal Sciences)

Based on diploma policy and curriculum policy for Program of Medicinal Sciences, the program seeks students who possess a range of abilities prior to admission as follows:

  1. Knowledge and skills;
    Those who possess basic knowledge in high school curriculum, especially having high scores in math, English and science
  2. Capacities for thought, judgement and expression;
    Those who are enthusiastic to learn chemistry or life sciences and aim to contribute to drug discovery and development of pharmaceutical research
  3. Independence, diversity and cooperation;
    Those who aim to become medical specialists such as pharmaceutical researchers, technicians, developers of next generation medicine, providers of advanced medical information, experts in environment / health who can also take a major role in the world, equipped with the foremost specialized knowledge on the advanced medicinal sciences at graduate programs.
