Food Science Program

- Toward the creation of healthy foods and rich dietary culture -

The Food Science Program offers the following six courses. Through these courses, the program conducts extensive education and research concerning the evaluation of the functionality and safety of foods and food materials, effects of foods and nutrients on lifestyle-related diseases, development of new technologies for food processing, search for useful functional materials derived from marine and terrestrial organisms, and exploration of such materials’ mechanisms and effects on living organisms and the environment. Students enrolled in this program can learn food science extensively from the basics to application, while familiarizing themselves with the latest research results and findings.
