プロジェクト概要

目的

再生可能エネルギー資源として近年着目されているバイオマス資源を実際に地域において有効利用するために必要な研究を行い、これを通して中国地域にバイオ マスエネルギーを導入、廃棄物の減量ならびに地域産業の活性化を実現する。具体的には、中国地方におけるバイオマス資源の調査研究、資源の収集輸送に関す る研究、資源のエネルギー変換に関する研究を実施する。

背景

先の閣議決定で「バイオマス・ニッポン総合戦略」が認められ、地域のバイオマスを有効利用する政策が取られることとなった。これを受けて、産総研中国セン ターでもバイオマスラボを立ち上げ、前向きに取り組む姿勢を示しており、経済産業局もこれにタイアップした動きを見せている。広島大学としても産官学の共 同研究の枠組みで地域のバイオマス利用に貢献することが求められるが、現時点では個々の研究者レベルでした受け皿がないのが実状である。バイオマス研究セ ンターを設置することにより、産官学の枠組みを明確に示し、バイオマス・ニッポンに伴う各種研究助成を確保しつつ地域の産業に貢献することが求められてい る。

主な事業活動

平成15年度

中国電力との共同研究事業「中国地方におけるバイオマスエネルギー導入ビジョン策定」720万円 委員会開催を行い中国地方の市町村レベルでのバイオマス の賦存量の推算と技術調査を行った。NEDO国際グラント事業「化石燃料のライバルを目指す低コストバイオエタノール生産」1185万円 水熱反応を用い てリグノセルロース系バイオマスを加水分解する前処理技術の検討を行った。

このほか、各種調査委員会に委員長、委員などの形で協力している。

1.バイオマス夏季セミナー.

日本エネルギー学会のバイオマス部会による夏季セミナーが開催されました。このセミナーの運営は主にバイオマスプロジェクト研究センターと産業技術総合研究所が行いました。
専門家からの講演に続き、活発にバイオマスに関する議論が行われ、また懇親会を通してメンバー同士の親睦も深めました。2日目の見学では、実際の森林バイオマス利用プロセスについて多くを学ぶことができました。

2.SETA/NEDO国際ワークショップ.

バイオマスからの液体燃料に関する国際ワークショップを学士会館で共催の形で行いました。中国、スイスから研究者が集まり、菊地センター長から開会の挨拶の後、総勢14名で活発な意見交換が行われました。

3.リエゾンフェア(東京).

リエゾンフェアが浜松町流通センターにて開催され、バイオマスプロジェクト研究センターからは、西尾教授、松村助教授の2名が参加。多くの方々にセンター の活動の一部を説明させていただきました。今回のリエゾンフェアは、総参加者数は500人以上の大盛況で幕を閉じました。

4.リエゾンフェア(呉市).

「広島大学リエゾンフェア2003 in 呉」がビューポートくれにて開催され、バイオマスプロジェクト研究センターからは、西尾教授、及び松村助教授の代理で、事務員の堂鼻が参加。多くの方々に 資料をお渡しすることが出来ました。今回呉で行われたリエゾンフェアは、総参加者数約400名近くの大盛況でした。

5.バイオマスプロジェクト研究センター主催シンポジウム.

『環境に優しいエネルギー資源~バイオマスエネルギー利用の現状と展望~』今回のシンポジウムは、バイオマ スについて広く知っていただくという主旨の元、参加者を企業、個人にかかわらず、一般から広く募集した結果、事前申し込みが72名にまで達しました。当日 は朝からの曇り空にもかかわらず、総勢107名の方々にご参加いただき、大盛況でした。
各講演の後、及び最後に質疑応答が行われ、参加者との活発な意見交換が行われました。終了後、アンケート調査にて今回のシンポジウムについての意見を求 めた結果、次回開催を望む声も多く聞かれました。バイオマスへの関心の高さを改めて知る機会になり、大変有意義なシンポジウムになりました。.
