Top Chinese High School Students Enjoy Hiroshima University Fellowship Visit

Ten academically gifted high school students  selected from among the best high schools in Chongqing City in China visited the Graduate School of Biosphere Science and the School of Applied Biological Science on Thursday, December 8, 2016 for international exchange and laboratory visits.

This visit was made possible under the " Japan – Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science” program for accepting students of Chongqing City conducted by the Hiroshima International Center and adopted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency, and was conducted for the purpose of learning Japanese cutting-edge technology in the field of agricultural science and technology.  Mr. Akihiro Daimaru, Deputy Director General, Training Department together with Ms. Saori Moriya of the Management Division, Training Department  of the Hiroshima International Center coordinated the visit.

The day started with a courtesy call on Dr Yukinori Yoshimura, Dean of the Graduate School of Biosphere Science and the School of Applied Biological Science, followed by a presentation about an introduction to Hiroshima University and the Graduate School of Biosphere Science.  This was followed by laboratory visits and short experiments.  The day was capped by a simple fellowship dinner attended by the Chinese students as well as the host Japanese students.
