Establishment of mutual agreement on academic and educational exchange between Graduate School of Biosphere Science, Hiroshima University and College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, Chonnam National University, Korea on August 9, 2017

International collaborations between Hiroshima University and Chonnan National University have been continuing for a long time.  Professors Y. H. Yoon and H. Y. Soh, working for the Korean university, have graduated from our graduate school, and have been active in Korean academic societies.  Our TRV Toyoshio-maru has visited Chonnan National University as part of field trips for undergraduate students seven times since 1992.  In addition, we have been involved in a bilateral joint research and KAKEN grants supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.  Two undergraduate students from Chonnan National University had joined the summer school organized by our faculty.  Therefore, this mutual agreement on academic and educational exchange between both universities was proposed from both sides, and finally concluded on August 9, 2017 in our school.  Our dean Y. Yoshimura and the Korean dean D. J. Jang have happily exchanged the signed agreements.  We hope that mutual development between the two universities will be achievable as a result of this memorable event.
