ANIMAL SCIENCE PROFS MULLED RESEARCH LINKS WITH THAI COLLEAGUES

Associate Professor Naoki Isobe of the Animal Histophysiology Lab and Associate Professor Toshihisa Sugino of the Animal Nutrition and Feeding Lab visited colleagues at Khon Kaen University in Thailand last January 23-26, 2019 to pursue joint research under the auspices of the Research Center for Animal Science (RCAS) of Hiroshima University.

At Khon Kaen University, they held talks with Associate Professor Monchai Duangjinda who is the also the concurrent Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Suporn Katawatin and Assistant Professor Vibuntita Chankitisakul of the Department of Animal Science.  The research discussion focused on the relationship between casein nucleotide polymorphism and mammary gland immunity and the health of calves.  It is hoped that joint research on this theme will be launched very soon.

Khon Kaen University is the largest and oldest university in northeastern Thailand which is a major and highly ranked agricultural educational and research institution.  It signed an MOU for Research Collaboration and Exchange with the Graduate School of Biosphere Science in November 2016.
