ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH MOU INKED WITH INDONESIAN AND TAIWANESE PARTNERS

The Graduate School of Biosphere Science recently forged academic and research memoranda with two renowned institutions in Indonesia and Taiwan.  Documents defining mutual academic exchanges and research collaboration were signed on separate occasions with the Bogor Agricultural University in Bogor and the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology in Keelung, Taiwan.

Bogor Agricultural University (Indonesian: Institut Pertanian Bogor or IPB) is a state-owned research university founded in 1963 and consists of nine faculties spanning across the fields of agricultural, livestock, veterinary and life sciences fields.  It has five campuses all over Indonesia.  Many former graduate students at the Graduate School of Biosphere Science now serve as faculty members of IPB.

The National Museum of Marine Science and Technology in Taiwan combines public education and research among its primary goals.  Its exhibition and research facilities encompass the whole spectrum of marine science and technology, ecology and local culture.  It has a complement of marine science researchers, museum curators, educators and outreach officers working towards greater awareness of marine biodiversity conservation issues in Taiwan and beyond.
