【Seminar reports】321st IDEC Seminar (From Education and Culture to International Cooperation) (Prof.Yasuko Minoura, a professor emerita, Ochanomizu University)

June 17th 6:00pm-8:00pm IDEC Large Conference room, Number of participants:36

Understanding of the micro level (children's daily life) and its relationship with the macro level (society) are critical

We were grateful that we had Prof. Yasuko Minoura, who told her rich history of research and practice over years. Especially, it was interesting that she emphasized that the macro level issues such as the secondary education expansion in Thailand and the improvement of primary education enrollment rate in Bangladeshi, should be related to the understanding of the micro level (community and children's daily life). She also asserted that linkage between field and theory is critical for her research. Seminar participants had a wonderful opportunity to realize the joy of research through this event.(Kazuro Shibuya, Department of Educational Development and Cultural and Regional Studies)
