On Wednesday May 22nd 2013, IDEC welcomed His Excellency Mr. Masud Bin MOMEN, the Ambassador of People's Republic of Bangladesh to Japan and Dr. Jiban Ranjan Majumder, the Economic Minister.

The Ambassador and the Economic Minister met with President Toshimasa ASAHARA to discuss potential educational and academiccollaborationsbetween Hiroshima University and Bangladesh. They also met with Dean Akimasa JUJIWARA, Vice Dean Shinji KANEKO, agroup of IDEC Bangladesh students, and their supervisor.

Duringhis visit, Ambassador MOMEN had the opportunity to speak in their native language to graduate students about student and academic life at IDEC and expressed his intention to promote further exchanges between Bangladesh and Hiroshima University.

Hiroshima University currently has 19 students from Bangladesh. (As of May 1, 2013)
