A distinguishing feature of the careers chosen by graduates is that many are employed in occupations which support the foundations of society, such as those in government and municipal offices in national or regional public service, or those in private-sector enterprises such as banks or securities companies in the financial or insurance world where graduates can make good use of their knowledge about economics. Many students take on the challenge of gaining qualifications such as certified public accountant which will enable them to gain employment in a specialist kind of occupation.
Some students continue on to graduate school and further develop what they have studied at the School of Economics to find employment in a position that requires high-level specialist knowledge, or aim to become researchers. Some students who continue on to higher study sit special examinations to gain certain qualifications.
