On April 13th and 15th, the crew from Quatar’s satellite TV station Al Jazeera in Middle East visited Hiroshima University Hospital for interviewing President Mitsuo Ochi of cartilage in the knee joint regenerative medicine. The three crew members were in charge of the show “ The Cure ” that reports latest medical treatments all over the world. The show has been on the air for 5years. It has also been available on YOUTUBE.



Javid Abdelmonein (36), reporter and critical care doctor who lives in London, England said “ This latest treatment is very advanced. I would like people all over the world to know that ” and asked Ochi, specialist of knee cartilage regeneration for detailed explanations.



On the 13th, the crew shot the consultation of a patient who has had the transplantation of a tissue-engineered cartilage regeneration surgery 2years ago. Another patient that underwent surgery to treat a cartilage defect with an injection of magnetically labeled autogenic meseuchymal stem cells under a powerful magnetic field was interviewed on the 15th. This was the first time implement in the world. Surgery to observe the treated condition was also shot. Receiving interview President Ochi stated “Japan’s technology is the top level of the world. What we have been proceeding is on the right track, I believe.”
