On September 5, 2023, Prof. Arya Kumar, Dean Alumni Relations of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani, made a courtesy visit to Prof. Idaku Ishii, the Dean of the Graduate School of Innovation and Practice for Smart Society (hereafter this is called as "SmaSo"), Hiroshima University.  They exchanged opinions on education and research exchanges and cooperation between the two institutions.

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani is one of the largest private universities in India, with four campuses in India and Dubai. The SmaSo and the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering have concluded an agreement on joint supervision for the doctoral program students with BITS Pilani, and working together to develop doctoral students who have the global capability and strengthen international joint research.

Prof. Arya Kumar has been delivering an intensive course “Idea Mining Workshop” as a specialist in entrepreneur education and fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem. BITS Pilani has been producing numerous startups and unicorns. For our SmaSo students, this course is a great opportunity to acquire the knowledge and techniques for starting a business in a global field.

It is hoped that this visit will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen collaboration with the Birla Institute of Science and Technology, Pilani.
