論文提出による博士の学位の授与を申請する者は，医系科学研究科の学位専門分野の教授から学位申請の推薦を受けなければならない。
Applicants for the doctoral degree by dissertation must obtain a recommendation for degree application from a professor in the relevant degree specialty of the Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences.

※広島大学大学院医系科学研究科入学試験博士課程及び博士課程後期の英語外部検定試験において指定された基準及びスコアの有効期限等を満たす書類の提出の必要があります。
Applicants are required to submit documents regarding external English language examinations that meet the specified criteria, including valid scores and expiration dates based on the entrance examination for the Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, Hiroshima University, Doctoral Course･4 years and Doctoral Course･3 years.

論文提出による博士 (医学)，博士 (歯学)，博士 (薬学)又は博士(学術)の学位の授与を申請する者は，次のいずれかに該当する者でなければならない。また，次のいずれかに該当する者（（1）を除く。）は，広島大学で6月以上の研究歴を有することとする。

Applicants for the degree of "Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Science", "Doctor of Philosophy in Dental Science", "Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Science", or "Doctor of Philosophy" through the submission of a dissertation must meet one of the following criteria. (2) Individuals who have completed a university program in medicine, dentistry, or a six-year program in pharmacy or veterinary medicine, and have at least six years of research experience in their specialized field.
(3) Individuals who have completed a Master's Program or the first half of a Doctoral Course, and have at least six years of research experience in their specialized field.
(4) Individuals who have graduated from a university (excluding programs in medicine, dentistry, or six-year programs in pharmacy or veterinary medicine), and have at least eight years of research experience in their specialized field.
(5) Individuals recognized by the Faculty Council of this Graduate School as having research experience equivalent to or greater than those listed above.

(1) 医系科学研究科総合健康科学専攻博士課程後期，医歯薬保健学研究科博士課程後期，保健学研究科博士課程後期または医学系研究科博士課程後期に3年以上在学して所定の単位を修得し，かつ，研究指導を受けた後退学した者
(2) 大学院博士課程前期又は修士課程を修了した者で，5年以上の専攻分野に関する研究歴を有するもの
(3) 大学を卒業した者で，8年以上の専攻分野に関する研究歴を有するもの
 　1) 医系科学研究科，医歯薬保健学研究科または保健学研究科の研究歴が2年以上であること。
 　2) 保健学系以外の博士課程修了者は2年以上，修士課程修了者は5年以上の保健学研究歴を有する者であること。
 　3) 大学院及び研究歴が保健学系であるか否かは，教育委員会において判断する。
(4) 研究科教授会が前3号に掲げる者と同等以上の研究歴を有すると認めた者

 　1) Have at least two years of research experience at this Graduate School.
 　2) Individuals who have completed a doctoral program in a field other than health science must have at least two years of research experience in health science, and those who have completed a master's program must have at least five years of research experience in health science.
 　3) Whether the applicant’s academic background and research experience are in the field of health science shall be determined by the Academic Affairs Committee.
(4) Individuals recognized by the Faculty Council of the Graduate School as having research experience equivalent to or greater than those listed above.

(1) 大学の専任の教員又はこれに準ずる者として研究に従事した期間
(2) 大学院を退学した者の場合は，大学院に在学した期間
(3) 研究科教授会が前2号と同等以上と認める方法により研究に従事した期間

(1) The period during which the individual was engaged in research as a full-time  faculty member at a university or in an equivalent position.
(2) For individuals who withdrew from a graduate school, the period of enrollment in the graduate program.
(3) The period during which the individual was engaged in research through a method recognized by the Faculty Council of the Graduate School as equivalent to or exceeding the criteria listed in items (1) and (2).

「Journal Citation Reports（http://www.isiknowledge.com/JCR）」で検索可能な雑誌に掲載（予定を含む）されたもの。学位論文の共著者に指導教授が含まれていなければならない。

The doctoral dissertation must be published (or scheduled to be published) in a journal indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (http://www.isiknowledge.com/JCR). The academic supervisor must be included as a co-author of the doctoral dissertation.

Journal of Citation Reports で検索可能な学術雑誌に掲載された（掲載予定を含む），申請者が筆頭または筆頭と同等と認められる（equally contributed author，co-first author）共著の一般論文。学位論文の共著者に指導教授が含まれていなければならない。

A peer-reviewed original article published (or scheduled to be published) in an academic journal indexed in the Journal Citation Reports, in which the applicant is listed as the first author or recognized as an equally contributing author (co-first author). The academic supervisor must be included as a co-author of the doctoral dissertation.

学位論文は単著論文のみとし，指導教授の研究指導を受けていることを必要とする。
単著論文（冊子体，一般的な博士論文の体裁のもの），ただし，参考論文として内容の一部または全部が下記①もしくは②に，計2報掲載，もしくは受理されていなければならない。
①「Journal Citation Reports（http://www.isiknowledge.com/JCR）」で検索可能な雑誌に掲載された（掲載予定を含む），申請者が筆頭著者の一般論文（Full Paperもしくはそれに準ずるもの）。
②「Hiroshima Journal of Medical Science」に掲載された，申請者が筆頭著者の一般論文（Full Paperもしくはそれに準ずるもの）。

The doctoral dissertation must be a single-author thesis, and the applicant must have received research guidance from their academic advisor.
The thesis should be in booklet form, conforming to the standard format of a doctoral dissertation. However, as reference papers, two articles must be published or accepted that include part or all of the dissertation content in either of the following:
① General papers (Full Paper or equivalent) for which the applicant is the first author, published (or scheduled to be published) in journals searchable via Journal Citation Reports (http://www.isiknowledge.com/JCR).
② General papers (Full Paper or equivalent) for which the applicant is the first author, published in the Hiroshima Journal of Medical Science.

学位論文の共著者に指導教授が含まれていなければならない。
The academic supervisor must be included as a co-author of the doctoral dissertation.

＜論文博士（乙（甲））（単位修得満期退学者で，3年以内に学位申請をする者）の場合＞

①主論文のみの申請

主論文：
　(1) 「Journal Citation Reports（以下，「JCR」という。）」で検索可能であり，Impact factor 0.5以上の雑誌に受理された原著論文であること。
　(2) 申請者が筆頭者であること。
　(3) 博士課程後期入学時から退学後3年以内に受理・掲載されたもの。

②主論文と副論文による申請 
主論文： 
　(1) 申請者の行った研究内容が記載されている論文であること。（A4版） 
　(2) 論文は，英語または日本語とする。 
副論文：（1編以上）
　(1) 保健学研究科教育委員会（以下「教育委員会」という。）が適切と判断し，承認した査読制度がある雑誌に受理された論文であること。または，JCRで検索可能な雑誌に受理された論文であること。申請者は，学位申請時に査読が行われたことを証明する書類を添付すること。 
　(2) 論文は原則として英語とする。 
　(3) 原著論文（注）であること。（注：最終的な判断は教育委員会に委ねる。） 
　(4) 学位申請論文に関連する内容であること。 
　(5) 申請者が筆頭者であること。 
　(6) 博士課程後期入学時から退学後3年以内に受理・掲載されたもの。

＜For a doctoral degree by dissertation, applicable to students who have completed all required credits and withdrew upon reaching the maximum enrollment period, and who intend to apply for the degree within three years.＞

① Application with Main Dissertation Only

Main Dissertation:
　(1) The original research paper must be accepted by a journal searchable in the Journal Citation Reports (hereinafter referred to as "JCR") and have an impact factor of 0.5 or higher.
　(2) The applicant must be the first author.
　(3) The paper must be accepted and published after the applicant's enrollment in the doctoral program (later stage) and within three years after withdrawal from the program.

② Application with Main Dissertation and Supporting Papers
Main Dissertation:
　(1) The paper must describe the research conducted by the applicant. (A4 size)
　(2) The paper must be written in either English or Japanese.
Supporting Papers (One or more):
　(1) The paper must be accepted by a peer-reviewed journal that is either approved by the Graduate School of Health Sciences Educational Committee (hereinafter referred to as "the Educational Committee") or searchable in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). The applicant must attach documentation proving that the paper underwent peer review at the time of degree application.
　(2) The paper must, in principle, be written in English.
　(3) The paper must be an original research article. (Note: Final judgment will be made by the Educational Committee.)
　(4) The content must be related to the dissertation submitted for the degree application.
　(5) The applicant must be the first author.
　(6) The paper must be accepted and published between the time of enrollment in the doctoral program (later stage) and within three years after withdrawal from the program.

＜論文博士（乙）の場合＞

2025年度，2026年度

主論文：
　(1) 申請者の行った研究内容が記載されている論文であること。（A4版）
　(2) 申請者が筆頭者であること。
　(3) 論文は，日本語または英語とする。
副論文：（5編以上）
　(1) 査読制度のある雑誌に投稿し掲載（受理）された論文で，教育委員会が認めた雑誌であること。申請者は学位申請時に査読が行われたことを証明する書類を添付すること。
　(2) 論文は原則として英語とする。
　(3) 原著（注）であること。（注：最終的な判断は教育委員会に委ねる。）
　(4) 学位申請論文に関連する内容であること。
　(5) 申請者が筆頭者である論文を2編以上とすること。ただし，当該論文2編がJCRで検索可能であり，Impact factorが0.5以上の雑誌に受理された原著論文である場合は，１編を主論文，もう１編を副論文とすることができる。この場合，副論文の残り4編は，申請者が共著者の論文で可とする。
　(6) 学位申請時以前10年以内に受理・掲載されたもの。

<For Dissertation-Based Doctorate>

Academic Years 2025 and 2026

Main Dissertation:
　(1) The paper must describe the research conducted by the applicant. (A4 size)
　(2) The applicant must be the first author.
　(3) The paper must be written in either Japanese or English.
Supporting Papers (Five or more):
　(1) The papers must be accepted and published in peer-reviewed journals approved by the Educational Committee. The applicant must attach documentation proving that peer review was conducted at the time of degree application.
　(2) The papers must, in principle, be written in English.
　(3) The papers must be original research articles. (Note: Final judgment will be made by the Educational Committee.)
　(4) The content must be related to the dissertation submitted for the degree application.
　(5) At least two of the supporting papers must list the applicant as the first author. However, if both of these papers are original research articles accepted by journals searchable in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) with an impact factor of 0.5 or higher, one may be designated as the main dissertation and the other as a supporting paper. In this case, the remaining four supporting papers can be articles in which the applicant is a co-author.
　(6) The papers must have been accepted and published within ten years prior to the degree application.

2027年度以降

主論文：
　(1) JCRで検索可能であり，Impact factor 0.5以上の雑誌に受理された原著論文であること。
　(2) 申請者が筆頭者であること。
　(3) 申請者の行った研究内容が記載されている論文であること。（A4版）
副論文：（1編以上）
　(1) JCRで検索可能な雑誌に受理された原著論文であること。
　(2) 申請者が筆頭者であること。
　(3) 学位申請論文に関連する内容であること。
　(4) 学位申請時以前10年以内に受理・掲載されたもの。

From Academic Year 2027 Onward

Main Dissertation:
　(1) The paper must be an original research article accepted by a journal searchable in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) with an impact factor of 0.5 or higher.
　(2) The applicant must be the first author.
　(3) The paper must describe the research conducted by the applicant. (A4 size)
Supporting Papers (One or more):
　(1) Each paper must be an original research article accepted by a journal searchable in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
　(2) The applicant must be the first author.
　(3) The content must be related to the dissertation submitted for the degree application.
　(4) The papers must have been accepted and published within ten years prior to the degree application.
