On April 27 2018, Graduate School of Engineering, Hiroshima University concluded an international exchange agreement with Faculty of Education, and Graduate School, Universitas Negeri Malang.

Professor AH. Rofiuddin (Rector),Professor Bambang Budi Wiyono (Dean, Faculty of Education),Professor Nyoman Sudana Degeng (Director of Graduate School ) visit to the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of HU and signed the agreement with Dean of Graduate School of Engineering .

Universitas Negeri Malang was established as School of Education and changed its status from an institute to a university. Universitas Negeri Malang has been playing a role of the advanced research center in Indonesia. It is expected that the inter-university student exchange program between the universities will continue to develop.

As of May 1 2018, the Faculty of Engineering and Graduate School of Engineering, Hiroshima University has a total enrollment of 311 international students. Among them, the number of students from Indonesia is 50, which is the second largest next to the number of students from China.
