Outline
This session describes the support provided by the following two fellowship programs and the points to consider when applying.
・Program for Developing and Supporting the Next-Generation of Innovative Researchers at Hiroshima University (SPRING)
・Project for Developing and Supporting the Next-Generation AI Researchers at Hiroshima University
Second-year Master's students who are considering applying for a fellowship, Master's students and undergraduate students who are considering entering the Doctoral Program are encouraged to attend.
Date, time and place
(1) Wednesday, December 10, 2025, 16:30-17:30 @ Kasumi Campus, Ryoun Lecture Building R301
(2) Friday, December 12, 2025, 17:00-18:00 @ Higashi-Hiroshima Campus, Integrated Arts and Sciences K109
*The explanations are the same for both dates.
*Only face-to-face meetings will be held, and the language used will be Japanese.
*After the session, the slide materials (English translation) will be posted on the website. If you are considering applying for a fellowship but are unable to understand Japanese, please review the materials at a later date.

1. Program for Developing and Supporting the Next-Generation of Innovative Researchers at Hiroshima University (SPRING)
We will explain about the Next Generation Fellowship, the required qualifications for Next Generation Fellows, and points to consider when applying for the fellowship.
2. Project for Developing and Supporting the Next-Generation AI Researchers at Hiroshima University
We will explain the support provided by the Next Generation AI Fellowship, the required qualifications required for Next Generation AI Fellows, points to consider when applying for the fellowship, and how the fellowship differs from SPRING.

Regarding Eligibility for MEXT "Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation (SPRING)"
MEXT has announced the following policy: "Support for the stipends (equivalent to living expenses) shall be limited to Japanese students." Accordingly, the "Program for Developing and Supporting the Next-Generation of Innovative Researchers at Hiroshima University" implemented under this initiative will only support individuals holding Japanese nationality or certain residence statuses such as permanent residents.
※ International students remain eligible for support under the "Project for Developing and Supporting the Next-Generation AI Researchers at Hiroshima University."
Hiroshima University will separately establish the "Hiroshima University Global Doctoral Fellowship" to support international students. However, this information session pertains to the "Program for Developing and Supporting the Next-Generation of Innovative Researchers at Hiroshima University (SPRING)" and the "Project for Developing and Supporting the Next-Generation AI Researchers at Hiroshima University."
