Exploring the World Beyond Borders

As globalization has advanced in modern society, it is important to critically evaluate matters from different perspectives beyond languages and academic areas. With such trends going on, the world is now seeking global-minded individuals, who not only have advanced communication and debating skills in English and Japanese, but also who seek solutions to various issues and problems that the international community faces.

To meet the demands of our current globalizing society, Hiroshima University has established a new department at the School of Integrated Arts and Sciences which will deliver an interdisciplinary arts and sciences education in English. In this Department, students come from all over the world to study together. In addition, students participate in study-abroad programs and experience internships at global enterprises. Consequently, such opportunities should promote their capability of working with other individuals with different languages and cultural backgrounds in a collaborative way.
