[Research] A research paper reported by Professor Manabu Abe was selected as one of the Hot Papers on Chemistry – A European Journal

A research paper reported by Professor Manabu Abe, Graduate School of Science, called “Unusually Long‐Wavelength Emissions of Cyclopropanes: New Insight into C−C Bond Homolysis,” was chosen as one of the Hot Papers as well as one of the Cover Pictures on Chemistry – A European Journal, Wiley-VCH.

This research paper was featured on the ChemistryViews, Wiley-VCH’s chemistry portal as well.

Chemical reactions involve bond cleavage and formation between atoms. Isomers play a role in determining the selectivity of chemical reactions. Only two isomers were thought to exist in cleavage and formation processes of homogeneous bonds.

Now, a third isomer has been discovered by Professor Manabu Abe and his collaborative research group including Hui-Hsu Gavin Tsai of National Central University.

Results of this research enable us to understand the selectivity of chemical reactions that were not understood until now, and this new development will lead to the development of more efficient chemical reactions.
