Faculty members of Hiroshima University can recommend (request the purchase of) books for students to read for their classes and study. The purpose of this system is to enhance the library resources for students by asking faculty members to recommend books for student use.
- When applying, please state the specific reason for recommending the book.
- The Library Management Committee's Selection Committee will decide whether or not to purchase the recommended book(s), taking into consideration the reason for the recommendation, the availability of the book(s), and other factors.
- The name of the recommender and the reason for the recommendation will be made public for the purpose of promoting the use of the recommended book(s).

Library materials (paper materials and e-books such as Japanese language can be recommended through “New Purchase Request” on the online service.
- Access “New Purchase Request” on the online service
- After login authentication, fill in the required information and submit your application
Maximum amount
Up to 20,000 yen per person per year
Ineligible materials
Journal articles, incomplete collections, books that are continuously published, books that are out of stock or otherwise unavailable.

Foreign e-books can be recommended through ProQuest Ebook Central
- Search for the book you wish to recommend
- Select “Request” on the left side of the book's detail screen
- After login authentication, enter the required information and submit your request.
*Please enter the address of Hiroshima University (@hiroshima-u.ac.jp) as your e-mail address.
*In principle, e-books are purchased with a license for one simultaneous access.
